Temple Date and Dessert!

I just love Temple Date Nights! This semester (my whole life revolves around this timeline) I have actually done so good about going to the temple a couple times a month but this semester has also been one of the toughest for Blaine so he isn't always able to go with me. One time we attempted to go, we were dressed up, we drove 40 minutes of the way there (out of 45) and we stopped by Wendy's to grab a quick bite before heading to the Temple. This Wendy's was the one down the street from the Temple so we were basically there. So we order our burgers and drinks and Blaine gets a Dr. Pepper/Rootbeer.....which exploded ALL OVER HIS WHITE SHIRT!!! If it was Sprite maybe it would have been OK but his shirt was ruined, at this point we didn't know you could just rent a clean white shirt and we were already going to the last session of the night so even if we went back home, got a new shirt, we couldn't make it back to the Temple on time. And the fact that his other white shirt at home was dirty also. So we had to turn around. Sad!!! Funny, but sad. But anyways, later in the month we tried again and we made it! It was great and we got Oreo McFlurrys on the way home. What a perfect way to end a Saturday! The Temple really does bring so many blessings not only to the people we are doing the work for but also for those attending. Sometimes our blessings don't get answered the way we want to JUST because we go to the Temple but I think the Temple definitely opens your eyes as to how much Heavenly Father really is in charge and how we are to submit to his will. Can't wait until our next date night :)

Blaine and Priscilla Davis 8/8/2009!!!

Such a crazy day! 4:30 am and time for a quick shower. I had to get ready to get my hair done by 6 and well it was a pretty rushed morning! I eventually made it to the temple. I got ready and my mom and my mommy-in-law helped me get ready in order to meet Blaine. I seriously couldn't stop from tearing up because I've been waiting to be in this dress for years! I could barely believe I was about to marry him and be sealed for all time and eternity. We met up with President Tates (the architect for the Las Vegas Temple) and he was just such a sweet guy. He spoke a little about the Temple and our love and I was so excited. Then we were off to the bigest sealing room there and about 80 people were waiting for us. I just kept looking at everyone and I was so amazed at all the people who loved us :) During the ceremony, I was composed until I realized I was married! The words spoken and the sealing was beautiful! I just loved Blaine so much! Then shaking everyone's hand was so special and I was so happy that they were there. Blaine and I spent some time together before pictures and it was just great to be hugged by my husband and knowing that I'll have him forever. Then we came out to meet and greet people and take many pics! They left and Blaine and I took some more pics. Our photographer Jeanna Hayes is so fun! So we caught the tail-end of the luncheon at Memphis BBQ and that was really yummy! The reception was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen! Kristine Peart (?) from KP Decor was the best!!! Everything went so well and little things like not finding the toss bouquet was perfectly alright with me. I cried every single time I danced but I made it :) Blaine and I danced to our high school song "Must be doin' something right" by Billy Currington and I danced "My Little Girl" by Tim McGraw with my dad because Tim's his favorite and it's a special bond we shared loving country music. The dancing, the cake, and newly-wed game, and everything was so great!!! for more wedding pics visit : http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=316224&id=725275060&l=3777c979b0

Hawaii Honeymoon!!!

8/10/09-8/14/09

Monday:
Airport bound and we waited for our plane listening to music and ate pizza for lunch. Our plane ride was 6 hours so we slept most of the time & we saw part of a movie. Then the battery died so we were sad but then a movie called the "Soloist" came on the plane. It was ok, interesting so it kept us entertained. We arrived and we got laid! haha they were real flowers and so beautiful. We got our Dodge Charger and headed to the Ko'Olina Marriott Beach Club where it was absolutely beautiful. We were right next to the beach and it was a private beach and many pools and tropical trees. Our hotel room was really nice & had a fun view of our hotel downstairs pools. We then went to lunch @ Kolohe's which is a little grill place right outside the beach! The view is just so beautiful! This resort is the best! We finished watching our movie and then bedtime! Everyday we went to bed early and woke up early too! Time difference of 3 or 4 hours.
Tuesday:
Up early for a yummy breakfast! Later we drove to Waikiki and that was so fun! We went shopping and it's right next to the beach too. So people where there! We bought ice cream, got some stuff while shopping and looked inside fun shops. We also stopped by the beach and put our feet inside the water. We didn't have our swimsuits but the water was so warm! The sand feels and looks beautiful! New favorite beaches...so much better than California beaches. So the week was mostly rainy but we always got sun when swimming. So then we went to Tony Romas 4 the best dinner of ribs ever! Whoo! Then too full so we fell asleep early again :)
Wednesday:
Up and awake and after breakfast we went straight into the ocean! That private beach is just so amazing and even at 7am the water feels so great! After we got ready for the day, we then went to the Aloha Stadium for some fun shopping. It's like a little China Town and swapmeet! So fun because we got a beautiful wood eagle wall decor for $35 instead of $50! It was probably worth like $80 too! So beautiful 2 go in our office at home. These wood people are competing against another company we saw there and we think they were both lying about the the quality of the products and how they make them haha Blaine did so good bringing down the price! We bought souvenirs and at the end we wanted some towels and it was hilarious because it was 2 for $12 or 1 for $7 but we only had $10 left in our shopping budget. We really really wanted our two beach towels to match but we only got 1 towel at first for ^4 so we had $4 left. I still really wanted the other one so I went to the car to find money. I only had $0.68!!! Hilarious but they gave us the towel! whoo! Go me :) Then off to the hotel & we saw a movie. Nice little break from tourism. We went to dinner at Chuck's Steak House (just downstairs in the hotel). So delish! They have you a lot of food haha I also had to have a pina colada and it was to die for! Then of course we were dying b/c of being full so we took a walk on the beach at night and although dark it was beautiful! We laid down on the beach chairs and it was starting to rain and that felt so good! Love summer nights in Hawaii!
Thursday:
We were up early and bought our tickets for the Polynesian Culture Center. We had breakfast and we got ready to go to the other side of the island! An 1hr 1/2 drive and we saw the prettiest landscapes. From mountains to fields to like forests! We stopped at the Dole Pineapple Plantation and had to stop to buy ice cream! Their pineapple ice cream is to die for! Also with fresh pineapple as a topping it's completely delicious! We saw how pineapples grow and it's fun to see the 100's of acres of pineapples! Yummy! Then we got to North Shore and saw the other beaches. We went to Laie, HA to see the Laie Temple! It's beautiful but sadly the temple was closed! We did go to the visitor's center & took pics outside. Next was BYU-Hawaii. We took pics & got some stuff @ the BYU-Bookstore! Love that place although BYU-Provo is better! :) So off we were to the PCC but we were hungry so we got McDonald's! ha. haven't eaten there in years but we were hungry and a Big Mac was amazingly yummy. At the PCC, we had such a blast! The first hour was crazy with the annoying ponchos b/c it was raining so hard but then it was ok! No rain whoo! We "visited" six countries: Hawaii, Tonga, New Zealand, Fiji, Tahiti & Samoa. We saw each nation's dancing, some drum playing, how to make fire, tours of their culture, a canoe ride & fun stuff! We went to a Luau for dinner and it was good! The best part was the dancing & music. Also, we had all honeymooner's and anniversary couples go up & dance! So cute! I love my husband then this cute lady wanted to cake pictures of us so we have those great pics. We window shopped & then our show started! It was absolutely beautiful! It was called HA, the Breath of Life. It was about a baby, to a boy, to a teen, to a married man, to a father. Life & death & love. All 6 countries were represented in beautiful music and dance. We loved it!
Friday:
Last day! It was beautiful outside but time to go. We went swimming in the morning though and took advantage of the sun. We even went snorkeling that early! Breakfast and then time to pack up. We actually got to the airport earlier than we realized so we watched an entire movie (thanks laptop) and then had pizza again :) The 5 hr plane ride seemed to take forever! We saw a part of the movie again until the computer died and then watched the movie on the plane. Not too bad when you have something to keep you busy. Finally to Vegas and it feels great to be home although we will definitely miss it there :)

Little Details of Home

Friday, August 28, 2009

It's the little things in my house that make me so excited! There are still rooms to be painted and there are still things to organize but I do have little things that make me happy! One of those things is my mail key. I have loved getting mail and getting a bunch of stuff! I loved when I would get letter's from Canada when Blaine would write me on his mission. Now that we own a home, it's so crazy how many people/businesses know where we live! haha nevertheless, it's way fun. I get fun coupons, catalogs, and lo and behold...BILLS. lol Somehow though, I still like to open envelopes! I pay everything online, but I like getting mail. At 2pm...I know I can check the mail and there will be fun stuff there :) Birthday cards and wedding cards are fun to get too!!!
Grandma Davis gave me a Kitchen Aid mixer and yes I love ALL my bridal shower and wedding gifts but this mixer is a dream gift that every home should have one! I have made cake and other treats in this mixer and I really love it. Having this in my home and displayed in my kitchen is so fun!
I love cooking! I got this seasoning set and yes I do like cooking with fresh herbs but we all know that we don't have time to have many grocery trips or time to keep up our own garden. ( I do wish I could make an herb garden one day though!) Anyways, I love having all my spices and herbs available in a convenient spot where I can use them easily while I am cooking. It's funny how good it is to have this available! A lot of my recipes have yummy ingredients and this is perfect!
I still have to dust this off but I LOVE my Pottery Barn goblets! I have the entire Emma Collection for dinnerware and these goblets are so nice to go with all my Pottery Barn stuff. I hope I don't break them! I like having dinners with my husband and yes we have our great Corelle dining sets that we use everyday but I will use our fancier china for Sunday dinners and special occasions.
Baking stuff!!! I still have to organize my pantry better and I have most of my baking stuff in cute canisters on my counter but I love my pantry being full with food, baking stuff, and yummy snacks. I love making desserts and the things in my pantry I use all the time! I enjoy grocery shopping a ton! Shopping is still shopping so I enjoy going to the grocery store :)

Well there it is! I know I still have to post pictures of the actual rooms in my house but once I clean and organize more, I will get that done!
